I'm no fan of the Quad, but that's the only place this superb documentary
about tracking down the Khmer Rouge face to face is playing:

ENEMIES OF THE PEOPLE

This was on HBO On Demand up to last week, so if you missed it there, or
don't have HBO, it's now at the Cinema Village.

Nice night to see Low Anthem & Swell Season tonite in Brooklyn!

I enjoyed the chamber music goup Ethel playing with various ID/FUV guest
singer/songwriters at Lincoln Center on the one night that wasn't oppressive
outside.

Too bad I won't get to the Lincoln Center out-of-doors this weekend what
with family and weather issues.

I think it probably is more illegal to post the Sirius show via downloads
than the FUV shows, on a sliding scale. As to passing around CDs or some
format in a tree or something?

Lew, thanks for catching this and forwarding to the list.

After I heard Vin talk, back in the spring, about retirement in a couple of=
years, the extended vacation had me dreading the announcement that this am=
azing and wonderful chapter of radio history had drawn to a close. So it's=
a bit of a relief to hear the show will continue, even in an abbreviated f=
orm.

Any new developments on the Sirius/XM show? Has Vin given any indication ho=
w long it might continue?

Jack

  Mike,

The band has one. Search on Kinderhook and "join", look for the pics.

I just learned of a movie with the most perfectly IDDiot friendly title
imaginable... "I Need That Record: The Death (or Possible Survival) of
the Independent Record Store". Ordered a copy of the DVD based on the
title alone. It's a 2008 film, so, excuse me if I'm behind the curve and
am the only one around here who's not heard of it until now.

*BTW, I need to credit Critic's Notebook for the subject line - it came
from their review...
